Community Plan PDF Print E-mail

Boston's Community Plan - a great past, an exciting future - sets out how public service providers and other key organisations will work together to improve the quality of life for everyone in the Boston area.  It has been produced jointly by Boston Borough Council and Boston Area Partnership, the area's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), which the Borough Council supports and co-ordinates.  The LSP includes Lincolnshire County Council, the Police, Boston Mayflower Ltd (the area's largest social housing provider), NHS, Boston Collegel, voluntary organisations and the private sector.  The LSP has a 'place-shaping' role, ensuring that action is joined-up at a local level and meets community needs.

The LSP is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Community Plan, which is the over-arching plan for the Boston area.  Our Plan is based on the issues that Boston residents said matter most - like traffic congestions, anti-social behaviour, activities for teenagers and clean streets - as well as tackling some of the specific needs identified through research such as unhealthy lifestyles, low levels of social cohesion, flood risk and shortage of affordable housing.

An annual action plan is produced to accompany our Community Plan, which includes projects like the Big Boston Clean Up, Boston Community Showcase, health walks and Boston Placecheck (neighbourhood engagement).

Over time it is intended that the key BAP partners will link their plans and spending to the ambitions within the Community Plan and those within the countywide Lincolnshire Sustainable Community Strategy.  The latest versions of these documents are linked below.
