Welcome to Boston Area Partnership's website.
Boston Area Partnership (BAP) is the local strategic partnership for the Boston area. It forms one of the 360 local strategic partnerships in England.
BAP was launched in 2002 and brings together the major public service providers in the area, such as the police, NHS, Boston College, Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire County Councils, together with representatives from the voluntary and community sector and private sector. Its aim is to improve the local quality of life and regeneration of the Borough through improved planning and delivery of services and activities.
By working together the Partnership can share resources, build on existing achievements and best practice, learn from each other’s experiences and try new initiatives. Cross-cutting issues such as community cohesion (promoting a sense of belonging), health improvement and climate change, are all matters that lend themselves to partnership working and cannot be tackled effectively in isolation by a single agency.
BAP's vision is for Boston to be a more modern, vibrant and dynamic place to live, work and visit - a better destination for residents, shoppers, visitors, commerce and industry. Our collective voices ensure we are heard more clearly and have greater impact and success than if each organisation was working individually to achieve the same.
One of the key roles of BAP is to develop, implement and monitor a Community Plan for the area. The Community Plan is a long term development plan, focusing on issues that can be tackled at a local level. It describes the kind of place local people said they wanted their community to be, and identifies specific objectives under six ambitions. These are:- - Getting around
- Making Boston a destination
- Generating Prosperity
- Feeling safe and part of your community
- Being healthy
- Creating a greener and sustainable future
The specific actions identified within the Plan are being taken forward through the Partnership/Delivery Groups.
